The extension connects the JRL with the Circle Line, possibly in the Haw Par Villa area. The JRL is expected to be completed by 2025 and its stations will be announced in two years' time, connecting to the main activity nodes in Jurong West. These include Nanyang Technological University, the Jurong Industrial estate, Jurong Island and the future Jurong Gateway.
It provide further connectivity to the upcoming development in the West.
